Ms. Bowles is from Powder Springs, Georgia, and graduated from Spelman College with a degree in Child Development. Maria is a retired educator with 32 years of classroom experience. Teaching runs in her blood, as she comes from a long line of educators. Her passion for teaching grew as she realized the transformative power of education to change lives, and she cherishes being a part of that process.
Maria was drawn to MACS after experiencing its vision and passion for scholars, which inspired her to be part of a team committed to making an impact. Among MACS High5Habits — Kindness, Determination, Integrity, Compassion, and Wonder — kindness resonates with Maria the most, as she believes in the importance of treating others as you wish to be treated. In Bowles’ spare time, you can find her traveling, reading, enjoying time as a “GiGi” with her granddaughters, and spending quality time with family.
