Ms. Moorman is originally from Augusta, Georgia, and graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. What draws Moorman to education is her desire to provide every child with a positive school experience, similar to her own in elementary school, where teachers and administration played a key role in her love of learning. Marisa was drawn to MACS because of its focus on the whole child, including social and emotional learning, which she believes is crucial to character development.

Among MACS High5Habits — Kindness, Determination, Integrity, Compassion, and Wonder — kindness resonates with Marisa the most because “a small act of kindness can make someone’s day.” In Moorman’s spare time, you can find her playing outside with her son, watching TV, visiting parks, attending festivals, and trying new restaurants.
