Position Overview

Under the direction of the MACS’ After Care Director, the Infinity Care Program Lead Associate is responsible for supporting and facilitating activities, games, crafts, and homework help for scholars participating in MACS’ after care program. Scholars will range in grade level from Kindergarten through 6th grade. The ICLA should be creative, energetic, helpful, and a leading example of the school’s High-5-Habits: kindness, compassion, determination, integrity, and wonder. The ICLA is committed to representing the school in a professional and friendly manner at all times. This role requires an organized, flexible, and proactive approach, as no two days are the same.

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as Administrator on Duty during program hours.
  • Provide scholars with appropriate leadership and guidance during the program.
  • Develop and plan activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine.
  • Manage the preparation of lessons and activities that are developmentally appropriate.
  • Cover classrooms when necessary.
  • Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for all scholars.
  • Maintain open communication between MACS’ staff and Infinity Care personnel.
  • Manage invoices/payments.
  • Manage program staff scheduling and program documentation binder.
  • Manage participant rosters.
  • Act as the liaison between MACS and after school club vendors.
  • Communicate with parents/families as necessary through daily drop-off and pick-up, including discipline and program updates.
  • Maintain a safe environment for scholars.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward all of MACS’ stakeholders.
  • Responsible for all activity and room preparations for the program.
  • Maintain classroom tidiness and order.

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Use the school-wide database and security systems to check scholars in and out of the after care program.
  • Maintain accurate digital and paper records of check-in and check-out history for scholars participating in the program.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain and update school information, records, and databases.
  • Assist with delivery of stationery, materials, and resources to classes and ensure stock levels are maintained.
  • Perform general secretarial and clerical functions (e.g., scheduling, copying, faxing, data entry, filing, phone management) to support office operations.
  • Provide assistance with special projects and events as needed.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and School Leadership Team.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Be aware of and comply with all school policies and procedures, particularly relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection; report all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with the school’s policies and codes of conduct.
  • Participate in training and other learning activities as required and engage in appraisal and professional development.
  • Set high expectations of conduct while acting as a key crew member for Miles Ahead Charter School.

Education, Training, and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or currently in progress preferred.
  • Previous experience working with elementary school-aged children.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of school-aged children.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Able to handle questions from various stakeholders regarding the after care program.
  • Possess or willing to attain CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and adhere to action items, responsibilities, goals, and initiatives (self-imposed or assigned).
  • Self-motivated, energetic, with ability to learn and improve efficiencies through collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and English.
  • Ability to use office software and equipment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, school-related software, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Experience handling constant interruptions, inflexible deadlines, and changes to normal routines.
