Understanding your right to be informed about your scholar’s education.

At Miles Ahead Charter School, we believe families are essential partners in their child’s academic journey. As a Title I school, we are required by federal law [the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), reauthorized by the Every Scholar Succeeds Act (ESSA) in 2015] to let you know about your child’s teachers’ qualifications.

Teacher & Paraprofessional Qualifications

In compliance with the requirements of the Every Scholar Succeeds Act, parents may request the following information:

Whether your scholar’s teacher has met state certification and licensing requirements for the grade levels and subjects they teach
Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or provisional status
Whether the teacher is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
